Issues of broader involvement of handicraft products in the tourism and trade system were discussed

On September 8, an open dialogue was held at the Tashkent City Administration with the participation of representatives of the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement, the Tourism Committee, the “Hunarmand” Association, and artisans. A total of 170 participants took part in the meeting both offline and via videoconference.

▫️During the dialogue, issues of broader involvement of handicraft products in tourism facilities, large customers, and the public procurement system, forming sustainable demand for these products, and increasing export potential were discussed.

🖼In addition, problems and proposals related to establishing direct cooperation between artisans and representatives of the tourism sector, supply of raw materials, expanding sales markets, fulfilling large orders, and modern packaging and branding of products were heard.

📈As noted, handicrafts, along with preserving national traditions and values, are an important economic direction that serves to create new jobs, increase the incomes of the population, and expand the share of local products in domestic and foreign markets.
